Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

It's a '67, 108 with a 283 small block V8.

Not much inside it right now, but I'll get you a photo as soon as the camera finishes recharging. I am going to have to pull the motor and replace/rebuild it (burning oil). Have a 350 V8 more or less ready to go in once I locate a 4 barrel carb cheap. It runs but isn't yet registered/insured.

Thanks for the shot of a "real" Mystery Machine Van.I don't think I'm going to repaint this one to look like that. Just got through washing it last night, and this morning I clayed off all the nubs in the paint. Waiting for the sun to go down so I can polish and then wax it.

How fun - love the color! You won't be parking in the carport for long with all that cargo room. I spent part of the weekend in Nate and Rick's 'new' 76 Ford F-150 Custom and I'm clamoring for a vintage appliance-hauler too! Congrats, she looks like a beauty.

Thanks, Gene

I took a closer look at the 350 motor I got to put in her. There was about a pint of water in the oil... hmmm... it will probably need to be opened up and probably need to be rebuilt. Thinking it might be better just to rebuild the existing 283 instead, although that would mean an extended time out of commission.

Meanwhile, gotta resolve an overheating problem in the '78 Dodge pickup. Hopefully it's just a clogged radiator or bad thermostat (water pump is pretty new). Am hoping it's not a blown head gasket.

Too many toys to fix at the moment... Will be shedding some vintage gas stoves (Wedgewood) and maybe a dishwasher or two if anyone is interested.
