Okay all you washer restorers, I have a question for you. I am going to be restoring my Maytag Suds Saver this weekend and I was wondering, what is the blue stuff, and the black stuff I see you put in area of rust and/or in need of water proofing? I think it's called Por-15? Is that right? Where can I buy the stuff? Where exactly can it be used? In tubs? Just on the base? Where do I buy it? Thanks a lot!!!!!

POR-15 is extremely hard to find in stores...your only option is to order online. It is by no means cheap, but well worth it! I repaired the extremely corroded outer tub on the 1-18 (and posted pictures of it at the time if you remember) with one coat, as well as the light surface rust on the Dispensall's tubs.

Definitely a must-have for getting machines in good mechanical order again!
