Sears Kenmore 800, 700, & 600?

Is something going on at Sears recently I have noticed that the 800 Series (Automatic Water Level Control) has a new lower price and the 700 Series has disappeared, and the 600 Series price is very close to the 800 Series price?

Could it be that the 600 Series has become the top seller?

I can't say if the 700 has been discontinued, but I'd say that it's availability has been curtailed. I think to spur more sales of the 800. A lot of people were skiddish of the automatic load control and non-deep rinse, even though you can defeat the spray rinse only feature by turning the control to "fabric softener". As a result, customers turned to the 700 series who would have otherwise gone TOL. I also think the 800 may have been over-priced to take advantage of its energy efficient rating.

There was one 700 model recently at the outlet store in dark navy blue metallic. I'll check it's stock number and see if it is still available.

I don't know what the differences were between the 600 and 700, but knowing Sears, they probably were not hugely significant.

I went to the Sears outlet again today - There is ONE leftover 700 series machine in blue on the floor, it says it was returned and reconditioned, whatever "reconditioned" means.

I then called our store - the 700 is discontinued, and was told it was due to too many product recalls!! The stock number for the 700 series models references the 800 series now. I said "I want to be able to adjust my own water level" the lady said she totally understood, and she suggested the 600 or another brand. Most interesting...

Oh, that sucks! I always thought the 700 looked cute in blue.
