I recently found this machine in my mother's yard. I have no idea what year it is from and was hoping someone could take a look at the picture and tell me a little more about it. I am having a hard time finding this out on the internet. Please help!
if you locate a model/ serial # plate on it the model
no should begin with 110.xxxxx the first two numbers
after the 110. are often the year produced . I think
it could be 6x, but more likely 5x. This is a somewhat
accurate dating of Sears/Kenmore laundry equipment.
Do what Darrel (frontal...) says. The model plate should be on the back of the machine near the wringer column and cord wrap-up prongs.
It's a two-speed straight vane agitator rather than roto-swirl. Think it is a 1960's model ('64) just down one from the Lady Kenmore, because the 50's models had the brush filter mounted on the lid.
The filters come off and on easily like a filter-flo's and probably come off and get misplaced during moves, and then accidentally discarded. Mine came without a filter and Walt kindly gave me one.
They're very entertaining washing machines. I hope it works well and that you enjoy it.
Hello, You have a 1967 KENMORE!! I have same model with all owners papers. A 2 speed model, with straight vane agitator, timer, and pump,it is a good model.CONGRATULATIONS!! Best regards,Walt
I realize this is an old thread. I'm hoping Walt will see this and reply. I'm trying to figure out exactly how the wringer works. What does the switch/lever on the top do? Is there a way to lock the wringer into place so it doesn't swing when trying to use it? Also if anyone has a manual or could direct me to where to find one that would help tremendously. Thank you.
