Sears Ultra Plus in TL Washer

I've done a search and I notice a lot of people really like the Sears Ultra Plus in their front-loading washers. I was wondering if anyone used it in his or her top-loading machine. Any thoughts on how it works? I'm thinking of getting some, and don't want to invest in a 276 load size of something that's marginal or worse.

It works great !!!!!!!!!

I first started out with tide Liquid & later tide powder in warm water & would see rings in the upper part of the tub After running out of tide detergents & going with recomendations on this forum I started using the sears ultra powder detergents , The machine (The Tub) & clothes always come out clean.

I`ve ben using the green box.

The machine I use the sears detergent in is a Kenmore Oasis.

If youre using a non HE machine you might consider using more of the sears ultra powder.

I use it in both my Frigidaire front loader, and Maytag top loader. I use a full scoop in the front loader for large or heavily soiled loads and half scoop for smaller loads. For the top loader I use a scoop and a half for normal and large loads and small and medium a half scoop. I have great results in both machines.

When We had TLs

I used it in them and it did a great job.. Do not expect any suds as in a TL it does not suds.

....will swing by the store and pick it up on the way home.

The lack of suds doesn't both me at all....I prefer low sudsing detergent as a matter of fact.

I get to try it out with the new machine this evening. I'm looking forward to it! It will be nice to get that two and half week overflowing mess washed, dried and folded.

The orange box seem to work better for me although a lot of others like the green box too. I used 2 scoops on heavy soil or nasty loads which I have a lot of here. And it always did well for me.

I bought the one in the orange box. I didn't want the fabric softener or the oxi....I like the choice of being able to add those when I please.

I bought an orange box before Christmas, right after I hooked up the 1-18.

I was using 1 and half scoops and I was getting a very light layer of suds with it. Seemed to rinse out well and cleaned fairly well too. I have moved on though and have been using Kirkland detergent that seems to work just very well with more suds.

I personally like the visual aspect of having some suds but I know it isn't necessary.

The Ultra Plus worked wonders in the Neptune. The most I've ever used was a full scoop.

And is VERY hard to not add more when there is no suds. But I know that is old fashion thinking.. Like me all the way...

Are you talking about the clear scoop that comes in the box with the Sears detergent?

I am using about 1/2 scoop in my FL Neptune and 3/4 to 1 full scoop in my TL Maytags.
I have noticed that if I use a full scoop with towels, the first rinse is still soapy. So with towels, I tend to use around 3/4 scoop in the TL Maytags. I still follow the towel load with a second rinse.

I ave been using Sears UltraPlus powder in the orange box exclusively since 1999. have a Kenmore 80 series TL and it was a 70 series prior to that.
It performs great, very minimal sudsing in soft water and practically no sudsing in hard water. For a large load I use one heaping scoop and it does just fine. I also like that there isnt a noticeable scent to your clothes after washing, and I do believe if you use just one scoop in a load it averages out to be 8 or 9 cents per load.

I also use the detergent in the orange box. I find my partners nasty work clothes, and my sons play clothes, come out great. Previously, I was using Gain liquid, and found I still needed to pretreat stains and dribbles. With the Sears, 98 percent of the time I don't have to do anything. I would highly reccomend it to anyone.

Okay...I'm a new fan...

I've tried it in 3 wash loads. I am absolutely amazed at how well it's working, even in the dumbed down temperatures. The whites are brilliant, the colors are bright and fresh, everything is clean and not overly perfumed, and it has made even NASTY clothes pristine in cooler water.

I think I'll pick up another box while it's on sale. Thanks everybody!
