Well just fighted with the Dumbasses of the Sears because they deleted my order since they claimed the liquid detergent I've ordered with a box of orange powder being a liquid can't be shipped outside USA! This after 13 days I placed my order! (shipping time supposed to be was 10 to 14 days)
Always got liquids from USA and no problems so far! It is just them making stories! And BTW their liquid detergent description is still stating that it is eleigible for Intl. shipping!

To no avail my request of getting a powder instead, they just wanted to delete and refund , and asked me to order again (if it was a serious company would have been the minimum for them to send a powder box instead and for free to apologize for mistake also).
Will never try to buy from sears online anymore! Nor I will buy anymore in their shops in USA!

Got so angry for this! Well another reason to hate the modern Sears, better so maybe it was going to be a crappy powder like the green one they sell!

Over insult to injury, the refund will be issued just after 7 days of message of deletion of purchase! I said "What?"
They really got so bad at service? It is so sad to see that a good company like Sears was now just reduced to be a circus!

This is not normal to me!
Sorry for the outburst here but this really got me mad, I just write since it was asked to me say the differences I could find from green and orange one, at this point I can't say anything nor I care anymore to discover, I will just send to hell Sears, their products and their shops!

That sucks! I think you'd like the powder too, it really does clean good, just doesn't leave much of a scent. We'll see what we can do for you. I know I still promised a shipment of the Rinso, which I still plan to come through with, I just haven't had the money to do it yet.

To Be Fair

Most all international post these days goes via air freight and that comes with restrictions. What private sellers are willing to do versus what a large corporation can or will do regarding certain matters related to customs and or restrictions is another matter.

Liquids can leak if not properly packaged for shipment, and even if done so there is no promise.

For what it's worth lately many eBay and other vendors aren't shipping to some or all EU countries. Germany in particular seems on top of the list but there are others. Some of it has to do with various tariffs and postal restrictions, the rest sadly is due to rampant "loss" or downright theft of goods.

Thank you Vern, I think I will bring my attention to other products and brands, I just do not want to give a cent directly or indirectly to Sears anymore, thank you anyway so much vern for thinking about me, and then maybe it will probably be more good at washing than green one but if it have a light scent and does not leave it on laundry it is not for me, I like my laundry to be well perfumed.
I'm getting a few boxes of Rinso powder from Allen (Whirlcool) that he sent to me, the blue version was the only one available in his town but it is just good to try fro now...if it will be good I'd like to ger some others version including red one and lemon scented, and hope I can count on your kindness Vern, Thank you again! And do not worry, money is a thing i can totally understand, I'm almost done after the last exchanges...actually now I'd have to wait till next paycheck to get money others swap, I will get back money from sears though always if they will decide to send this damn refund, 7 days......cannot believe it!

Currently the package with Rinso from Allen looks like it ended for some reasons in India! Not sure if it is passing there or missent but I just know that delivery being an express mail was scheduled for tomorrow and tracking says it is still there.... O.o Never experienced a thing like that with a USPS package passed through India or any other country except straight USA to italy in years of mailing from relatives, friends and internet purchases.....let's see
Thank you again Vern! You're so kind!

My dear laundress, try to enter with italian account it will states Elegible for intl. shipping, need a pic? I can take this right now! Since you always like to get "proofs" of what one says.....
Also, I can tell you most of large companies still sending liquid stuff, and it is not outlaw, just a paranoia some courriers do, nor it is a restriction of US law as they said to me....

Then also I can tell you that if you enter with an international account, items not eleigible for intl. shipping are automatically hide, also system will not allow you to complete purchase if you drop an international address.....if you enyer with a USA account.....

Also the fact of Ebay sellers not selling to Europe anymore is not a sceret, Germany especially as it is well known that got a severe anti import policy to increase internal economy.....
Also Italy got his amount of problems with customs that you can easily fix if you're into and you make sure packages are declared with the right words, customs patch right etc., low value and docs to provide, proforma invoices etc....... only if you're into international shipping since alot like my family is since always....so I'm not a newbie on Internatioanl shipments, we used to do this in my family all the time since always....

But what's matter ebay and Private sellers now?

Listen Bub

Am not going to start a long back and forth with you, just saying on this side of the pond the item shows up as not being available for international shipping. Don't have nor would ever need an "international" account from Sears nor to visit their Italian website (if they have one), so cannot comment on the why and how of their declining to ship.

Yes of course me either, that is why I preferred to show it to you immediately before "bullshitting" accuse to raise toward me, do not want it to happend again never, I do appreciate your "input" anyway hoping what you posted was with the purpose to help.

Anyway all the speeches you do for intl, are fairly correct but just it is not the matter now, Sears provides insurance for every package and so almsot every big Internet shop provides it including amazon and ones going with private courriers, on ebay private sellers use moslty intl. priority USPS mail that includes automatically tracking and insurance against loss and damage till a certain limit but just good anyway, (provided by external insurances companies with which usps is insured) ......and so all of the most important shipping companies do of course as I said, since postal packages are then handled by different postal companies of the place they're sent in case of loss tracking will just show where the loss has happened, then will be USPS caring of the issue with the foreign postal service stating wherever is fault of one or the other.....
This speech is not valid for packages with no tracking but you do not have any insurance or right to get refund then as you have no proofs it really got lost....you just have to choose a tracked insured method.....as I alwasy do with valuable stuff...and everyone should, ebay sellers just cannot complaint if they want to ship Regular mail and ask refund if package does not reach destination, I would call it "at your own risk".....they should not offer it anymore.....or at least do not complaint then if they can't get refund from USPS, USPS should make these shipping cheaper also....

But as you say lost packages are a thing that is more common to happend nowadyas, can read thousands of stories on ebay forums to which I volountarily offer help alot of time to american sellers with issues with italy packages loss, making phone calls to customs or postal service (Speaking italian only) trying to track packages etc or explain things to idiot italian buyers that purchase in USA and then does not even know a word of english and just open an ebay claim if they do not see their stuff coming after a week they appear to be sent..... I also offered my help as translator or for bureucratic stuff documents for customs etc...
Anyway another matter as well....
I found plenty online big shops offering shipping of liquids.....and so got from them without problems and shipped by airmail, no one in these shops still ship via Surface.
No one never leaked to me, I can undestand the fear for shops to ship liquid products , but if a shop offer it then it is supposed they can safely pack it and ship it the right way, and just can't retrieve it to do that, if they will need to avoid it once order has been placed for they should be enough serious to apologize and offer you something else if they really want apologize, not absolutely like Sears did, and after 13 days of waiting they just come out "Hey we cannot ship, get you refund bye bye" This is not the way of doing serious business......
Those are the kind of things getting me mad!

It Stinks, But.....

....Companies restricting what they will and will not ship overseas is fairly common, as well as restrictions imposed by nations.

A favorite British product I like - Atora suet - is not available for shipment to the USA at all, due to US restrictions on import of British products made from beef. Atora vegetable suet is available, but not the original, and that's the one that makes the best pastry. The veggie stuff is abominable.

It's just part of living in this modern world - we now often know of the availability of products we'd very much like to buy, but regulations on one end or the other make it impossible.

I'm sorry you're having this frustration.

Oh don't tell me....I know I know.....

I know everything..... unfortunately USA laws restricted all what is food made from Beef pork or cheese, so ham also and many other things e.... You know my friends and relatives ask me foods from Italy and because of restrictions I cannot send, alot also changed after 9/11 of course.
That is just sad but on one side that is good, this is anyway for country safety.

Anyway this is different since I'm importing in italy and no law state that I cannot get liquid products here nor Italian or american, just shippers regulations but not any law, for example fedex allows liquids if shipped in waterproof boxes at least they said to me last time I asked...they did make a little stories when I shipped liquid and gel detergents but they said they would allow them to be shipped to USA well wrapped and in waterproof containers...
In USA is mostly about food, seeds, plants etc, biological threats.....

I like having my My U.S account set up. What they do is deliver to me in Australia what i order from America off say the Walmart website etc... I have used it a lot for Amazon for ordering Persil Megapearls or Downy.

Takes away the worry of a lot of US products not available for shipping to Australia.

So what happens is when you order from a US website or company, you put in the address they give you. The stock is then sent to that address where it is then forwarded onto you wherever you are in the world. I have never had a problem before apart from a leaky lid on some Downy one time.

My U.S address is based in Florida so it costs a little more to send to Florida then to send onto Australia (they do this automatically to my home address and will pack things better too!)

Well worth checking it out :-) Website below...

Matt

Thank you, I knew of them, I've heard of this my US address and took a look twice on their website, but looked like they asked much money for this service......and never wanted, I always tried to go through websites offering international shipping, cannot imagine how much you'd have to pay with this service....

Anyway with Amazon would be just useful and good.

Can I ask how much does it actually cost to you to use this service from USA to Australia? Always if you can say this.....

Thanks

Just FYI, whenever a package is presented to the USPS officials, they are required to ask the following: "Does it contain anything fragile, liquid, perishable or potentially hazardous?" The last is obviously not allowed, but the other three certainly have special restrictions. Perhaps Sears doesn't want to go the extra mile and do what they need to to make the shipment "legal" according to the USPS?

Chuck

Get this. You can't import a balsa model airplane to the US unless the seller/shipper is licensed. IOW, if you had a friend in Hong Kong he could not send you the model, but the store he bought it from could. Exact same product. There are millions of bureaucrats all over the world with nothing better to do than make up regulations like this.

Service at Sears

My Dad told me about a situation he had at Sears-He wanted to buy a new battery to replace an old one in his car.He brought the battery he needed to the checkout counter-The clerk helped other customers before him. However, when he wanted to pay for his battery-the clerk says"I cannot handle battery sales"There were other clerks nearby-they didn't want to help either---So my father walked out and bought his battery at an auto parts store that was WILLING to complete the sale. What gives---Usually Sears is RENOWNED for great service? If Sears keeps this up -much like the above detergent sales-they will undoubtely go under!SAD.And he got bad service at KMart,too-My stepMom wanrted to buy a sweatshirt-none of the salespeople at KMart wanted to help her---So she was able to buy her sweatsirt at of all places---WalMart!they helped her get her sweatshirt. So both Sears and KMart spinnin down the drain?

We knew, right? Sears and Kmart are the same thing. Kmart is lately more successful, probly just because they have "mart" in their name.

Before Kmart closed all its Austin stores, they did have good prices but inventory was in chaos. You couldn't find ANYthing. Salespeople? I never saw one.

Who remembers what the K stands for? S.S. Kresge, a "dime store" competitive with Woolworths back in the day.

The "service model" of Sears and Wards died decades ago. My first real job was TV repairman for Wards in 1966. They gave a huge lecture about service to everyone who worked there. They wanted generational customers, not transactional ones. Today they're lucky to get either.

Hi Rich, no with Sears packages does not leave with USPS but with private courriers, You're right USPS simply try to avoid shipping of liquid items as they could leak and ruin other packages during transportation, but t if you show you provide a safe packaging they will understand and allows it, this is the same thing happend here with Italian postal service, when I shipped liquids to Canada for a member I make sure the package was all wrapped with a good q.ty of Tape in all the surface of sides of package to avoid any leak, also bottle were tightyly blocked inside some rubber foam so they should have never got pressed......well, they accepted it and didn't make stories to me...not sure about USPS being more severe....I just know I got many times liquids with USPS from Internet shops mostly ebay as for other shops going with private courriers, and all descriptions and declarations stated it was a liquid item so I guess it is not totally forbidden from USPS or some private courriers (Fedex) also they allowed me to ship some gels and liquids detergents last time it is just a their worrying they can leak... so nor US laws, so I got liquid stuff many times from friends and relatives also, actually I used to get package full of Root beer from Granma and Aunt in the past, now I just home-make my own one only......in USA though you can't import liquid food from outside, and this is law that sadly got even more hard after 9/11 and terrorism threats...but this is okay as it is did for safety.

Anyway at Sears they goes with courriers no Postal Service, they mostly use DHL as it was told from the Sears customer care....
Do not know the regulations of DHL about this....I think they documented on what they can or cannot ship with them before sell and offer Intl. shipping for some items as I can see they did with many off all the things they're selling online which are available in USA only and not for intl....

Rex

I cannot say that much I never purchased much times in a Sears shop when In USAn went there just a few times, at Aeast never had need to assistance.....I looked around...
It is just absurd the story of your father, as for my story....really absurd!

I just cannot accept the fact they noticed this was not supoosed to be sent internationally after all this time I ordered (one day before what was expected delivery date) nor of course why it was and is still listed as eleigible for intl. shipping now on their website, cannot understand and accept why they cannot issue refund immediately and have to wait all this time BTW I never received the email confirmation for deletion of order yet....
I cannot accept to be treated this way as customer after having paid good money for the shipping handling and for this awful service.
Will never step in a Sears store anymore! Nor will purchase from them again!
Maybe it is all because I live in Italy and international customers are not as important for Sears....this sucks anyway!
