For most people participating the program went fine. But then again there were those who never received anything back, never even heard if their gift was received, etc.
Plus the economy isn't in the greatest shape right not and people are watching their money more closely than in years before.

Secret Santa?
There is a great, easy and economical way to be Secret Santa for any friends on here who are not upgraded - buy them an upgrade. This is the gift that will keep on giving for a full 12 months.
Or not so secret, gift them something from Automatic Ephemera (like that wonderful magazine from 1958 that Robert recently loaded) that they can keep for reference and future use

A Secret Santa is where the participants send in their name and address to a person who acts as a coordinator. That person then pairs people off for sending gifts. Once you have joined, you receive a name and address to send a gift to. But the twist is that the person you are sending the gift to is NOT the person that will send you a gift. Hence, the Secret Santa.
After Christmas the participants will list in a thread what their Secret Santa's sent them. Optionally, the Secret Santa for that person may optionally reveal themselves if they so desire.
As you can imagine, and as I have stated above not all participants play equally. But judging from the amount of happy people after Christmas I think that most do play fair.
The last Secret Santa gift I sent never sent in an acknowledgement that it was received. Did the gift even arrive? I have no idea. In fact, as far as I know that member never came back to this website.
But the other years I participated I did receive some very nice gifts!

I would have liked to jumped on the coordination band wagon but this all came too late and I am overwhelmed already so I wouldn't be a good choice but perhaps NEXT year..............don't let that stop anyone else from taking the position tho... and let me know coz even tho its late I could still at least participate. And Im like whirlcool, one year was a dud for me but the other years more than made up for it. I like ALs idea too about buying memberships, that kills two birds with one stone and helps Robert out as well.
