Madison Heights Michigan is a small suburb of Detroit in Oakland County. AFAIK its most unique aspect is a substantial amount of natural gas in the ground, so that residents have their own gas wells and aren't connected to the gas utility. There used to be a J.L. Hudson Outlet store at 12-Mile and John R., across the street from something with a whopping great smokestack. (incinerator perhaps)
