Selling Great Grandma's Frigidaire Custom Imperial Dryer...need more info...

I just bought my Great Grandmother's house which had a few vintage items still left behind, most of which I am going to sell. I would like to sell the dryer she had and was still using until about 6 months ago when she moved into a Senior Apartment. Under the impression it is still in great working condition, I have attached some photos just wondering if someone could give me some more info on this model dryer and maybe how much it is worth so when I list it for sell I don't get ripped off. Looks brand new...I do know it says that it is a Frigidaire Custom Imperial Flowing-Heat Dryer in Turqoise. Any info would help. Thanks...

What is the model number? Looks to me to be a 1965 or 1966 vintage. Electric version.

The only numbers I can figure which may be the model number are...Model DCIK....or 71SA3920

1966 vintage - the first year of the electronic sensor. It's in very nice condition, your best bet would be Ebay. Dryers don't always bring as high of price as the washers or matched pairs but you should do Ok.

Well, I didn't want to really put it on ebay...that's why I was wondering what a good price is for this, I was going to put it on something called "craigslist" where I can sell for free online and I can do it locally so I don't have to worry about shipping.... and they could just pick it up...I just don't want to sell it to someone for $50 or $100 and get ripped off...I don't really need the money but if it's worth something I might as well get a little for it...I just know absolutely nothing about this stuff.

Before you put it on Craigslist you ought to take bids from the members right here on this web site! You certainly won't find a larger concentration of people interested in vintage machines outside of us!

Firstly plug the dryer in and make sure it really does work----and if not---what doesn't work. Just give an accurate description. Then set the rules of the sale---how you want to be paid and how soon. How soon appliance must be removed, etc. Give us a reserve price, and start the bidding. Let us know when the cut off date and time will be.

I don't see how you can do better than us.

DCIK=Dryer Custom Imperial K is 1966.That's a pretty nice dryer,shouldn't have too many problems moving it.

Thanks to all who have replied so far...anything is help to me...I know not much about these things. Like the "DCIK"...LOL! I understand now. I guess from what I gather my best bet would be to put it on ebay...is that right? I still don't know much of how I would list it... If you sell it on Craigslist, you're just selling an old dryer, and $50 or $100 is fair, not, as you say, a ripoff.

If you sell it on eBay (or here), you're selling a classic appliance in a neat color to a collector and you should get more.

listen to Gyrafoam. craigslist has too small of an audience for such an esoteric item. and you need to be open to the idea of shipping. if you dont reach the right people (like us) you just have an old dryer on your hands. im slightly amused at your notion of getting "ripped off", yet you say you know nothing about this dryer. if you are afraid of getting "ripped off" you need to do your share of the work and test the product being sold and give a complete description of its condition and wear. good luck

That is exactly what I am trying to do, like I said before, I don't know anything about this stuff, I am trying to learn and do my best. That is why I searched this site out, looking for people who were educated and interested in appliances. Sorry I don't share the same passion you all have for these products, but I would like to be able to have someone like you guys on here get this dryer instead of someone who won't even understand its' value. I will do my best to get an accurate description of this dryer and put it up for auction. Do you guys recommend I do what Gyrafoam said and auction it on here first or just put it right on ebay?

you would be selling to someone that truly enjoys caring for and maintaining this dryer. You won't get ripped off but to be fair as mentioned let the group know if all cycles are working, is the timer advancing properly etc. Thank you and good luck to all!
