my papa asked me to post this thread as he wanted to know, if he was going to sell the bendix 7128 and hotpoint 9534 what they would be worth in that condition, pics to follow (by the way we are not actually going to sell them) any ideas? the bendix has a small leak in the outer drum but works very well, except that it needs a new water inlet valve

hotpoint details

ok and the hotpoint has the obvious door problem with the screws and the visible broken door (glued back together after i accidently broke it) and also needs a new water inlet valve, it too needs a new program dial as it it a click ahead, picture below

I think Philip given the condition in your pictures it would be lucky to go over £10 for either on ebay. You can never tell but there have been a few old machines in poor condition that haven't even got 99p bids that keep being relisted. The bendix is more unusual so may get someone interested. The only way to find out is to do it. Sometimes you get suprised and sometimes you end up thinking is that all i got for it!

The answer is not much! Interesting machines though they are, I reckon most collectors over here would like more machines than they have the space for, and both machines are a bit too tatty for anyone to want them as a cheapie daily driver. Even if they were mint, they probably wouldn't fetch more than maybe £30-£40 tops.

The fill valves would be probably be easy to fix though. I used to live in Hove, and had an automatic that had a leaky valve, but we removed it and soaked it overnight in vinegar, which cured it - limescale build up had prevented it closing properly, and I reckon your machines could well have the same problem!
