Semi-Kitchen Remodel Underway

Well a few months ago I decided I wanted a built in dishwasher in my kitchen, and I wanted some new cabinets, well luckily a co-worker remodeled and I got some of their old cabinetry and then I got a floor model Miele dishwasher.
Here are some pics of the kitchen before( please excuse the mess as I was starting to empty cabinets)

After being without a sink, counters or a dishwasher for over a week I got my new base cabinets in and a dishwasher hookup.

I still have no countertops as I'm waiting for them to be custom made with reproduction gray cracked ice Formica to match the existing counters. At that time I'll have my over mount Kohler Delafield cast iron sink installed with my Dishmaster faucet.

After counters and sink are in I'll work on having my existing cabinets sanded and refinished to match the newly added ones. Also need to attempt to get matching hardware as the handles are two different sizes. I also just picked up a beauty of a stove to rotate into the kitchen.

*Miele envy!*

Those cracked ice counters are gorgeous, the turquoise model 12 will look so cool.

I absolutely adore my Miele. I must say it reccomend a another Miele, and if I have my way I'll add a Miele rotary ironer next.

I refer to my Miele as an "Exclusive European Dishwasher" which I feel is something Hyacinth Bucket would say.

Hopefully next week the counters will be done

And that turquoise model 12 will look great disayed alongside my yellow, white and chrome ones.

I must say I very quickly adapted to the 3-D cutlery tray, one of my favorite features

and love that classic Armstrong 5354 flooring! We had 5352 (red) in 3 houses... wish they'd bring it back!!

Getting a bit closer to finishing this project, swapped the modern Frigidaire out for the 59 GE last week, and my new Cracked Grey Ice counters arrived today. Hopefully within a week the sink will be installed

Sam - what are you going to make with all that beautiful sauce? And where did you find cracked ice laminate? I didn't know it was still made!

Beautiful Miele dishwasher! Mine is a few years older than yours, but very similar. Mine has the angled control panel and a detergent button instead of the turbo option, but I imagine they both clean with similar excellence. Enjoy it for many years to come!

Just make sure the water protection box on the incoming water line is mounted in a vertical orientation. I learned the hard way that if it's left horizontal it's prone to failure.

Kevin, all that sauce will go into quart jars in the freezer for later use
Also 4'x10' sheets of the laminate are available from heffrons.com

Ralph, I don't seem to have one of those boxes on my dishwasher

Sam, my machine is older than yours.  Maybe Miele figured out something different after dealing with so many warranty claims due to boxes that were situated incorrectly.

Well , getting a bit closer. Got the sink , a cast iron Koehler Delafield, and the Dishmaster 2000 faucet installed today.

<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">I love my Dishmaster faucet.  I'll be eager to know how you like yours.  Did you order their soap or are you using some of your own? I ordered their soap and have been using that because I was concerned I'd use the wrong kind and ruin the faucet.</span>
