As mentioned in the above thread, my laundry room re-configueration would be completed Saturday,04/25. Well Ta Da!! it was. Only after 5 1/2 hrs. and two trips to HD. !!!
NO pictures to show & tell, but here is what basically happened:Laundry hook-ups in my mobile home are consealed behind dry-wall,much like most laundry room set-ups are these days; with the faucets, and drain pipe accessable through a 10x10 set-in "picture frame", with a removable panel about half way down the wall. Well, Two brass "splitters" (suitable for hot & cold water)were added to the existing faucets. Now the fun part. Mr. Magic, (Alex, from work)had the task of turning a 1 1/2" ABS standpipe & trap, into a 3" drain; and 2 1/2"trap by using larger piping and I believe, one reducer. BUT, in doing so; the drain would no longer be consealed behind the panel because of its' thickness, as well as a wall beam (stud)in close proximity. No problem, i said. So through the versatility of the trap fittings, and Alexs' expertise, the drainpipe was secured to the interior wall. ...Now, two washers can easily drain at the same time, and whose going to see the pipe if its' behind a washer?
Next, after asking Alex, (Da Man)if we were having FUN yet; we proceeded to the dryer. It was moved to the adjacent wall that has a water heater (gas) behind it. To complete the laundry room project, the gas was turned off. The gas valve was removed from the old location of the dryer; and the pipe capped-off. Next a "T" fitting was installed where the gas water heater is, (one side for the w/h, the other for the dryer). A new gas line, two openings in the interior wall, (one for gas, the other for the exhaust vent). Lastly an opening through the exterior wall of w/h cabinet for dryer venting.By venting this way, no insulation was lost for an interior wall. BTW As the dryer always worked well (Maytag) i think its' new location will enhance its' operation; ie: appx. 3ft.exhaust line travel as opposed to 12',from interior wall.
In closing, I would like to extend special THANKS to Revvinkevins'"brainstorming" contribution to this project, and, of course to ALEX, for his professionalism. I am happy with the outcome. ...

-Russell
