Well I got the Servis Compact from York and after a couple of minor repairs it's now up and running , did a couple of loads in it yesterday without any problems.
Only difficulty was the wringer, can anyone tell me should the wringer lift off totally for example for storage or transportation,?mine dosnt , and believe me I have tried.
Also how much movement should I get with the wringer, mine swings towards me only a quarter turn , so that you could wring out of the left hand side of the tub but that's it , I can't for example push the wringer forward and say wring from the sink onto the draining board.
Is it made that way? Mike I know you have one of these machines can you help?
Thanks guys
Lance

Morning Lance,
Congrats on your win, they are nice machines !!
I have had about 3 of these machines over the years..but never the one with the foot pedal operated wringer, I know Mike has one.
All the ones i have had the wringer does come off for storage in the cupboard below, however the foot operated ones didn't have the storage cupboard, or did they ?
They did from memory have six positions of wringing, 3 at 9-12 o'clock and 3 at 3-6 o'clock i think.
I will try and get and get to the garage soon for those wringer guards !!

wringer

Hi Keith , no your right , its dosnt have a storage cupboard.
The wringer seems free enough but definately cant get it off the top of the machine and certainly i think it should move through more positions than it does but dont want to try and fix something that might not be broken.
Let me know if you want my old Parnall if you find the wringer guards , if you dont then i will definately buy the guards off you for my machine , i think they will look much better than my cream plastic ones.
Cheers
Lance

Wringer should come off!

My step great-grandma had a Servis Compact. I never saw it in action, but it was deffo stored under a worktop, together with a Hoover Spinarinse. I can't remember if it had the foot pedal, but it did have a wringer, as I was told that she never used it. No phone credit atm, but I will get back to you, day off tomorrow.
