hi there, i had no idea till today that people collect washing machines, still i suppose they take up less room than classic cars, i've just been given a servis quartz as my zanussi froze during the cold weather, its working okay exept a small drip from the door seal but every now and then is flashing f5 on the display. does anyone know what this means or better still have a service manual?

thanks...

Hi Jeffers71

Nice machine in the servis quartz!

Be great to know the model number - can be found on the inside of the door and is prefixed by the letters MK.

Is it the earlier slimline version, with small round push buttons, or the later version from the 'Piano Key' series, with long oblong buttons?

The 'F' for fault codes are as follows (taken from a Piano Key machine manual, but applicable to the slimline models too):

F1 - water temperature circuit is faulty - call the engineer.

F2 - The machine takes too long to fill

F3 - The machine has failed to pump out the water before spinning

F4 - The motor is running too fast or too slow

F5 & F6 - There is a fault in the heater circuit - manual recommends to get it checked out.

Whichever version/model you possess, you have a great machine - keep it going as long as you can.

thanks for getting back to me paul - the label on the inside of the door is a distant memory all thats left is a small patch of glue lol. it's the one with the small push buttons. It mainly only seems to run without fault on the 30 min quickwash which would probably make sense if the heater is faulty as thats the coolest wash. i presume would cost a fortune to get it repaired so i'll persevere with it as long as i can.

Free to good home - servis quartz

Ok you'll probably all hate me but i caved in and bought a new machine - coz i really need one i can switch on, go out and forget about. So if anyone wants the servis quartz its free to a good home - u just need to come and collect. i'm about 20 miles from Wrexham north wales

Hi Jeffers71.

Deffo dont scrap it!

What kind of external condition is it in? are flights of stairs involved in its collection?

If no one else bites I will take it off your hands though, depending on what crops up this weekend, it may be a couple of weekends till I can collect it.

If anyone else wants to take up the kind offer of a Servis Quartz, then do post a message - I just dont want to see at the very least a source of spares get flattened.

Thanks again Jeffers71 for offereing to dispose it through Discuss o Mat.

Regards
paul

Free to good home - servis quartz

Paul, no stairs involved- husband has taken out, at the moment is sitting on his trailer on the back yard as he has got designs on weighing it in, but if you definately want it drop me a line and i'll get him to offload it and put a cover over it. thanks Julie

Hi Julie.

I have sent you an e-mail.

Tell your husband politely to rub out his design on weighing it in! lol:-)

Paul
