Servis UK Brochure

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Interesting, I recognised the page with the map of Britain from when I bought my Servis Starlight 6025 in 1988 so I just dug out my copy. On mine they only claim to have "over 600 specialist engineers". There is a photo of a Servis Quartz inside my service leaflet so they were from the same era. Mine was a simpler layout with only about 3 buttons and an LED display for the programme number.

Servis 6025 Starlight

Hi Phil.

You will be pleased to know that there is a safe 6025 Starlight, in preservation. Myself and Rob bought one about 4 years ago and its in fine fettle.

Picture of the machine attached below, as is a link to a video of it on youtube.

Asking a favour - we dont actually know much about this model as, with the assumption that it was a Mail order catalogue exclusive, publicity and brochure information is quite rare. Where did you purchase yours from? and any chance of you scanning and posting your documentatiuon for it?

No worries if not but, as with Stephen's brchures, they would be great to see.

Cheers
Paul

Many thanks again Stephen.

Two more brochures that I have never seen before, containing one model that I have never seen before (the 3080) and also showing the rarer semi-integrated piano-key Servis' - the 6031 and its matching dryer.

Fantastic read and good scan quality too.

Does 1987 ring true, for when you picked the brochures up?

Paul

you're welcome

No problem Paul

Glad to have been able to add something to reduce the number of missing machines. I reckon it would have been around then when I was 15 or 16 as I had a habit of writing off for brochures. I seem to recall having a load for Bedford vans which I was also slightly obsessed about but not sure where they are come to think of it. Perhaps I will uncover more stuff back up in Durham next week.

Cheers
S

Blimey! All these models I never knew existed until now lol, I'm surprised they were offered with panel doors like on some Mieles, I bet those machines were expensive new, not 2 mention ahead of their time. I used 2 have a closely related Electra Microelectronic 6950E which is much the same as this.

it's nice seeing those brochures, keep em' coming. :)

6025

Thanks for the photo of your 6025, I was only 100% out on the number of buttons! I can't find the instruction book but will scan what bits I have. The door button on these only works when the machine is powered up so it came with a cardboard tag on a bit of string to open the door in the showroom. Mine was bought in Comet, Nuneaton and was £250.

Hi Phil.

Thanks for scanning and posting the paperwork that came with your 6025. Thanks also for mentioning that it came from Comet, as previously I had assumed that it was a Mail Order Catalogue exclusive!
This assumption was arrived at due to only ever seeing the 6025 on sale in the pages of KAYS, so thanks for confirming that it was sold through the usual retailers.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE that you have kept the cardboard door release tug. One of my childhood memories is of Servis machines in showrooms, with their tugs on string protruding from under the lids.
Brilliant!

Cheers

Servis Quartz

What a lovely machine that is (the Electronic 1000 Plus Servis Quartz, possible model 6030 if I'm correct....) I remember my next door neighbour had one of these, think it was the brown version. I remember standing on her front door step when I heard a loud vibration sound from the kitchen and she said "go take a look at it." And I walked in to her kitchen and it was vibrating a lot, but the sound was so pure from it! Sadly it got replaced by a Hotpoint WMT03/WMT02.

Glad to see these machines are still in good hands today (newwave1 and matchboxpaul/aquarius1984).

Servis drum rims.

Guys, is it just me or do the modern day Servis washers have abnormally big drum rims? I've noticed it on many Servis machines, take a look at the picture of I think a Servis M9511W or something, the rim seems to be quite larger than most machine rims today...

Is/was there a reason for this or is this a unique thing for Servis?

Modern

Hi Brandon, the modern day Servis are just that, they are not related to any of the main machines (bar 3080) listed above in the brochures. Its hard to explain that the earlier machines where of an era when design and engineering where key principles in the making of traditional Servis machines. The above one only had the Servis badge on it because Merloni Industries bought the Servis name after the UK compny went into administration after 1991. A dark day in the history of the company!!

Heres a link showing a high level profile of what machines where produced in the West Midlands factories by the only British manufacturer of washing machines and tumble dryers . Also my parents Servis Quartz set, which replaced the brown slimline pair and still going strong, wouldnt look out of place on a line up of modern machines.

Wow

Great scans there boys, those 6031 full door machines where quite something, only ever sold one set when I worked at Wigfalls, yes well ahead of the game with Quartz control, and full door, the multivent dryers where popular, , you could fit the back panel up against the wall and still vent accordingly.. or vent from the front with the snap on hose!!
