I know we talked about shaving products, but I was wondering, for those of you who shave manually, do you let the water run constantly in the sink to rinse the razor, or fill it up partially to rinse it out.

Neither

I cycle the facet on/off and blast the razor under a fast stream of water. Doing so helps remove the shavings from the razor better than a calm stream of water or wading the razor through a sink full of still, dirty water.

I shave while showering, hot moist water to soften the beard, running water to clean razor, and a complete rinse, this works well for standard razors, but I really like using the electric in the shower with the lotion dispenser, seems to give a better shave.....

I also brush my teeth in the shower

this all seems to be a lot of time in the shower, but all the mess is in there, and I can rinse everything down the drain when done, rather than clean the sink everytime, from toothpaste, shaving cream, soap, and hair clippings....

I have a plastic squeeze bottle into which I put a bit of liquid detergent and maybe a cup of water from the instant hot. With the tiny nozzle top, it shoots a powerful stream of water that instantly cleans the twin blades and a quick rinse of warm water finishes the job for the next part of the dance with death.

I started doing this while in Florida where the hot water pipes went through the slab and pulled every bit of heat from the water as soon as it stopped running.

I also wet shave in the shower; I used to use the washbasin, but was constantly being told off for leaving stubble in the basin by her in doors and its bloody cold standing there, no heating in my bathroom. I also clean my teeth in the shower too which now causes problems because I’m in it too long. Can’t win!!

Just think, I shave every day except Saturdays and Sundays, it takes about 10 minutes each time, nearly 1 hour per week, I’d grow a beard, but look like my dad and I cant get past day 3 for the irritation it causes. My god that’s nearly 52 hours wasted time in a year….

I fill the basin with hot water

to wash and lubricate my beard, then use the same water to rinse my blade off. This is good practice, and also not letting the water run while brushing your teeth. There is one thing I'm sure many of you can agree; when I turn on the hot water in the morning, especially in cold weather, it takes forever for the water to get hot. Now I think that is wasting water!
