Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

There is a ironer in the Mineral Wells Hospital

about 60 miles from here exactly like that one.. and it is still running.

Top loading "H-Axis" washing machines are still made and used in commercial laundries in the US as well. Probably much easier to load and unload when it comes to huge capacity verus a traditional port hole design.

Some machines are even built as "stpah-guard" models. Here one side of the unit opens in one room, (the soiled side), and there is a door also on the opposite site (clean side); this way freshly washed linen does not ever come into contact with possible germ laden areas/laundry. Very popular with hospital and commercal laundries that do hospital linens.

Somewhere I may have some photos I took a while ago of the laundry room aboard the US Hornet - which is docked as a museum not far from here in Alameda. It had some horizontal contraptions that might look similar to the ones at the prison.

I'll see if I can find them.

Just was browsing over the pictures again, and there is close-up shot of one of the washing machines open, and golly gee, the inside tub is made of wood. Surprised they used wood for inner tubs that late. Means these machines most certianly were washers only, and the extractors were someplace out of shot.

PS

The shots of death row and the gallows are so spooky. Wonder how many ghosts are wandering around that room! *LOL*

"I was framed see, I didn't do it!

Or

"He had it comin"

Did anyone else notice that the photos are labeled incorrectly?

He has the washers labeled as dryers, and the dryers labeled as washers...
