I have noticed that Cascade powder with shine shield does NOT clean as well as the previous formula.Perhaps it leaves a protective anti-etching film on the dishes that inhibits the surfactants from penetrating. By the way,a GREAT dishwasher detergent is the dollar store brand SUNsations powder in the blue box.EVERYONE that has swiched to it has noticed its superiority and has made it their brand of choice, not to be confused with the dreadful Sunlight brand. Family Dollar sells a large box for two dollars.Let me know what you think.

Cascade

I'm sticking with Cascade Complete. The Wal-Mart Great Value DOES work just fine, but it's a drive to get it.

SUNsations(Lemon)

I was told not to use any dw detergent with lemon.....told that it fades your dishware faster. I have been using Electrasol 'Orange' and that does not seem to have any effect on the dishes...perhaps the orange is not as acidic as the lemon.
Tried the Walmart Great Value and that was excellent too.

Sunsations!

99 cent store Sunsation brand package graphic arts caught my attention. So did "Rinso" brand. Had gone back to Cascade "Complete" powder and using rinse agent. Good results.

But 99 cent big box of Sunsation detergent? No I'm not high or drunk. I don't pre rinse & toss pots into the DW. Why not? This cheap stuff Sunsations really cleans!!!

FYI. Local CA newspaper reports that average income of 99 cent store shopper income... average $50K+. Extermely interesting mix of customers. If you know what I mean?....
