Thank you for your anwers, I'm glad you enjoy my post.
My Lavamat is a standard 5 kg european FL, it seems bigger beacause the front opening is very little (as in most old washers). The size is the same of a modern Miele or AEG machine and no, it doesn't dry clothes! It just spins at max 560 rpm!
The only fault she has is the lack of a temperature setting: it's only possible to have long cycle at high temp, short cycle at low temp. I have to turn off the machine for a while in order to get longer washing times at low temps.

Hi Daniele!

My 2004 AEG does deep rinses too, so great at rinsing. What year is your AEG from? It looks late 70s to me... my auntie has a mid 80s Lavamat 560. Rinses halfway up the door, and the spin cycle was very strange too. Hers would distribute during the drain, then when all the water had drained out would stop the drum, then just drain with a stationary drain for about 30 secs (making that wonderful shoop-shoop-shoop-shoop sound :-D), then suddenly boosted up to either 650rpm if it was an interim spin, or straight up to 850rpm if it was the final spin. Amazing thing is this machine never got off balance!!!

It's the Sensitive higher water level option. Without the sensitive option, all the rinses fill about 1/4 up the window, and the final conditioner rinse fills 1/3 up the window. With the sensitive option pressed, the first rinse fills 1/3 up the window, and the 4 rinses after that all fill to that level in the pick (about 1/2 up the window).

About my Lavamat

Thank Jon for your Lavamat-details!
I guess mine is dated 1979: looking at the AEG italian site, and downloading users manuals, there was a similar machine of that year. (The link below is from the english site, the manual is about the machine with the temperature selector, it says nothing about the year).
In my lavamat the cycle runs very easily: it starts turning while filling, then turns while heating, turns while it drains the main wash and the 5 rinses water, then only spins soon after the final rinse water is completely out.
Sometimes it's not so balanced, but due to its weight it never jumps round the kitchen(the manual says 100 kg)!
It doesn't spin during the interm. rinses, sometimes starts filling the next rinse water having not completely drained the precedent one.
The cotton cycle washes at low water level and rinses at high level.
The syntetic/delicate cycle washes and rinses at high level with reduced mecanical action and finishes with water in.

Jon, it's great that a modern machine rinses at that water level!
I was deciding if buying a new AEG or Miele washer, but now I know which direction I have to take!
My parents Zanussi RJ10 (see link below), also made by Electrolux as modern Lavamat, in the cotton cycle rinses with a very poor quantity of water, which means I have to set the spin at 650rpm (when the max is 1000) to get more water. Sometimes it's not enough and I have to set another rinse and then final spin by hand. And I HATE to do that!

What do all of you think about latest version of AEG Lavamat?
As anyone tried it? I'm in love with the 86800 model.

Thank you for sharing your AEG pictures, I love that series. It was still available in 1982 when I bought my first washer. I didn't have room for a frontloader, so I bought my Philips toploader. Otherwise I had seriously considered buying the Lavamat 802TS.

I also love the '60 machines with soap dispenser on the top. In a Lavamat manual of the period (see the link below) they suggested to pour the washing powder while water was flushing in!
I'd kill for one of that.

You can programme the miele to do a high level rinse too!
It's an option that you programme in, check the instruction manual for details. It's quite easy.

I have set my older Miele W715 to do high level rinses. My AEG 6450 only does the low level ones. I use the AEG for smaller loads and loads that don't need high level rinses, the other loads go in the Miele. Or sometimes one of the other washers.
