Lucky find! I just picked up a Supertwin for
$50. All functions are working except the drum for the spin cycle is not turning, the motor is making a sound so I'm fairly certain that it is not totally dead but I'm new to repairs and not sure what to try, any guidance or manuals would be highly appreciated!
Welcome to the club Sara and Congratulations on finding a Simplicity Supertwin washing machine, the Supertwin was known as the "Rolls-Royce" of twintubs here in the UK.
These are made by Servis UK and the tub / motors / pipes etc where sent out to the States where they where built on your own chassis etc, which I believe looks a bit different inside to our and uses pinch valves for the pumps.
If you can hear the sound of the spinner motor it sounds like the belt has snapped or come off the motor and or pulley.
WITH THE PLUG OUT ELECTRICITY OFF remove the back cover and check the belts etc...here is our arrangement etc..
