My standpipe is about 32 inches high versus the 36 inch recommended height. Is a siphon break necessary for that 4 inch height difference? Speed Queen dealer installed it with no siphon break and I've just been watching for any issues and haven't seen a problem yet. Last washer also ran fine without siphon break. Though I may be unlikely to see the issue of pulling water back in via suction.
I have the siphon break kit and my question is whether it's worth putting in and if it will cause other problems. The washer is installed in the laundry room/ garage area so overflow while not great won't cause huge problems and would just go down the driveway. Know having laundry by garage may not be best placement or design but a lot of Southern California homes are set up that way since we don't have to worry about frozen pipes.
Got it through PWS and it drop shipped from Alliance. https://www.pwslaundry.com/i-7549851-speed-queen-562p3-washer-kit-siphon-break.html
For reference it's the AWNE92SP113TW01 serial 1710053863 but should be a fairly universal question.
Thanks!
Low Standpipe Installation
If standpipe is lower than 36 inches [914 mm], you must install
No. 562P3 Siphon Break Kit. Refer to Figure 6 . This kit is available
(as optional equipment at extra cost) through an authorized
dealer or parts distributor. Installation instructions are supplied
with the kit
