I heard mention last weekend at the Boston Wash-In that one of our own members has recorded a Podcast for Slate Magazine (slate.com) called "How Does an Appliance Repairman Work?"

John L (combo52) gives a very good explanation and account of a typical day and a brief explanation of the appliance repair business. I listened to it today and it was great, John does a great job.

You can also find it in iTunes by searching: Slate Working Appliance

Very interesting. Having done service calls with my father for so many years, I can relate to everything said here. You do meet all kinds of people and you have to do business with them. In this sense, appliance home repair is one of the best jobs in the world.

What sort of amazes me, looking back over the years, is how we did repairs without the internet, cellphones, and Google maps!

Great Job John!  I listen while doing a load of whites!

Thanks for the link Greg!
