A few day later i was craving something sweet .and there were no sweets, snack foods or junk food in the house.

So I realized i had the ingredients to make a cake. I didn't want to light the (hot!) gas oven. So I found a toaster-oven recipe for a mini cake!

This stainless-steel pan is actually one of a set of three "breading" dishes from Williams-Sonoma. SO OVER-PRICED. But finding one that fit that was not aluminum or non-stick was quite the task! Buy it right, buy it once, and have it for life, I always say! [this post was last edited: 8/17/2010-22:07]

tuna hot dish Yummy I love it with crushed crisp, I never bake it to lazy but made the same way as what you made there. Also works with tined chuck chicken.
 
Cook in aluminum? Are you mad? Not me baby!

Equal sugar to flour looked like too much for me so I used only 1/2 cup sugar.

I also just dumped all ingredients in a bowl and beat it by hand (..er the batter that is....)

Terry, Kelly, Greg if you or anyone else would tell me the advantage of doing it the stated way, I'm all ears...........

It was ok but not fabulous! Hit the spot though.

Tater Tot Casserole

Hamburger
Onions
Salt
Pepper
Cream of Mushroom soup
Tater Tots
Finely chop onion and toss with hamburger, salt and pepper. Loosely drop the meat mixture into the bottom of baking dish. "Frost" the burger with undiluted soup. Top the pan with tater tot. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

When I was a teen and fending for myself in the kitchen, one of my favorite meals to make:

1 can Campbell Beef with Barley soup (condensed)
1 cup white rice
1 cup or so of water

Boil water with a little salt. Stir in rice. Cook covered until water absorbed by rice. Open can of soup. Do not dilute. Add to rice. Continue heating until all warmed up. Season to taste. Enjoy.

Very simple to make... probably fairly nutritious as well (if a bit on the salty side).

I like tuna casserole also. Usually I add more mushrooms - either canned or fresh. Usually some garlic and hot pepper. Olive oil as well. Olives if one has them. A nice variation is to use canned chicken instead of canned tuna.
