Do you like small appliances? I notice some do, some see them as clutter.
My mom has never cared much for a lot of small appliances. She has only the things she really needs - a coffee maker, a toaster and a small deep fryer which is rarely used and a can opener. She has a stand mixer that was a wedding gift. I remember in the past she did buy a small toaster oven but never really used it. I think she also had an electric skillet at one point (or a few different ones) but never used them.
She knew so much about appliances though in general. She could tell you how GE cooktops had the upswept design and how she preferred a continuous clean oven. She could tell you when they stopped putting outlets on ranges. Or about vacuum cleaner designs. Or she would talk about her old Dormeyer mixer.
My grandmother had a few small appliances as well, namely a Sunbeam waffle iron, a Presto percolator (she had several) and in later years a few dollar store appliances namely a hand mixer and can opener. She also had a convection oven and I remember an old electric skillet.
My other grandmother is the biggest into gadgets. I think she has every kitchen gadget possible, a hand mixer, blender, chopper, deep fryer, toaster oven, can opener, food processor and some I probably forget. When I go to her house I see she's almost always gotten a new item and she'll say she saw it at Walmart or a garage sale and had to have it. LOL She does use them though.
If I had my own place I would probably have lots of gadgets too. I'd have a Kitchen Aid mixer and a blender at least and probably a warmer and skillet also.
