The vintage stuff would be classics irreplaceable hand-made items from 1952 that came with them to this country in the baoul/baoulo "steamer trunk".

Funny how some of us CRAVE the look we grew up with and others have pure disdain of it.

I'm with Louis. Go for a middle-of-the road decorating style and try to use what you have, if you are indeed selling.
If you got the G gene with the "decorating" portion intact, it will probably be fabulous, no matter what you do!

hmmm... maybe the Hoover twinnie could live in that room as an end table or something? I also have my former Amana(SQ) downstairs, and my Maytag DG608 is living out at Ida's!

Toggle: funny about the mom thing, I spent about 45 minutes on the phone this morning ARGUING with my mom about that room. She started with her "well maybe next spring you can..."

I've been hearing variations on that theme for 42 years: "Maybe for your birthday...Christmas...wait til summer's over before...next spring you can..."
SO I told her: "When you pay the bills around here, you can decide when things get done!"

She didn't offer to pay any bills...

I'm not leaving that room sit empty and in its present condition til spring! GEEZE!!!

I hope to have it done by New Years.

So after going to Hom(o) Depot, and (B)lowes....

I stopped in the local Ace Hardware this morning after church to check their colors, and FINALLY found what I wanted.
I kinda eyeballed the colors in the store, and here are the results.
I found Marine Blue, Spring Green, and something very close to the seal griege light and medium.
Forgive the blurry pic please! The flash from the camera also washed out the colors some...

Those are nice colors Jeff! The other option, of course, would have been to take a convertible or two to a store that does color matching (wink).

But, now that you've sorted that and found something workable, maybe AFTER Thanksgiving you can....(ducks and runs)

to get my kitchen paint mixed, I took the bag from a model 69 Convertible color matched...
turned out pretty nice too!

After seeing your bedspread ( where did you get it , i love it!!!) I like the lighter green color for the walls. Neptune green or the blue color that you have near the 1070. Too bad you don't like berber because that is what i was going to suggest. My roomies recently replaced the carpets this month and we went from a goldish late 70's plush to a light berber and i love it. Some of the guys here have seen that ugly old gold carpet.

As for the spare room, put a bed for guests and a night stand with a lamp. Skip the dresser so your guests won't stay for very long ( LOL). Small desk for the computer. Small desk, large desks collect clutter. If you have room, maybe a small non Hoover display. Eureka vacuums for a few months then bring in the Singers for awhile.

Enjoy your Home alone time! It's nice when you have spent the day in a noisy office ( or nurses station ) with phones that ring and ring and ring and....

Marty, I got the bedspread last year at a store here called Meijer, kinda like a super Kmart/Super Target thing. It came with the comforter, dust thingy and two pillowcases.
I also bought the matching sheets too.

I love the pattern, one of those things that just JUMPED off the shelves at me!

HI Jeff, Congratulations on no more roomate, good for you! I have an idea,( are you sitting down on this one)? Get a small pipe organ and put it up there. I will help you haul it up there and set it up. A 5 or 6 rank, self contained Wicks or a Moller Artiste would be just what the dr. ordered. What a good idea. Mine is 90%done and you will have to drive on down and play it. We can do some wash too. Bring Jack, Fred,Fred and Joe along too, sounds like fun. See you later, Gary

Gary that would be an excellent idea, but I don't know if the house would be able to support the extra weight. Would be fun though, especially to drown out the sounds of my neighbors loud video games and rap music...
I think this organ should definately have a couple of 32's!
That would get the neighbor's attention!
