So I took the top off my Duet today....

Was just curious to what was inside...was kinda surprised to see these things that contour to the top of the plastic tub and are bolted down to it. They are what I can only describe as like a light weight cement? What are these used for? Balancing? Also notice the control board on the left side...not very big. Is there another one elsewhere...maybe on the bottom of the machine under the tub?

Those are the balance weights. The machine control is actually in the front right corner and the motor control is in the bottom.
