Combo!

It is a  really well built machine and the one he just found; and is leaving to me in his will !; is in absolutely stellar condition!

They were built SOLID. Didn't get to do a wash this time around there was too much to do as usual.

Here are some skirt pics- the bakelite blower is "megna" big and must create a hurricane of drying !!

As you will see the heating element is directly from the Millennium Falcon !

I remember most of this machine from my youth, there was  a Norge Dry Cleaning Center just a bike ride over the hill. The dry cleaners were based on these machines and were turquoise. I always thought this was the best shaped door ever to appear in a front loader = PERIOD !

Nice pics, Jon - thanks for showing us the secret innards. Love the heating fins, must have made the front of the drum pretty hot, but that blower is incredible. Do you know if runs through the whole cycle or just during the dry phase? BLOW-WASH action?

Super cool - what a fun machine.

Wow!  That is really something - love the blower and the door design.  I'm going to show these pictures to my father as soon as I get a chance to see if he sees traces of the Moffat version he got to schlep around when he worked at Eatons back in the 50s.

Great pictures! It sure does look like a machine that means business!!!
Does anyone know how many RPM's the blower turned?
What a fun machine!
Thanks for the pictures.

Great pictures

Better made than the new one I saw on CBS this morning that had some form of cell phone sensor for people who don't check their pockets. They made a big deal out it being a combo too.

I saw the news too. I was looking at it and saw it somehow resembled a GE in design. I'm hoping and praying they go for a 110volt with a gas burner for drying and water temperature boosts. AND that they gain popularity to make them finally available from numerous brands. Condenser drying is fine but not as fast as vented. Especially if ,like here, your cold water is only tepid, not cold. The colder the water, the faster the clothes dry. Not real keene about the brand reintroducing the full size full featured combo but at least it's being put out there. Lets hope they get great reviews and the price is right.
