I got a call from one of the admins today that I had a package waiting for me, kinda strange since I never get stuff at work. Today was the dreaded "last day to sign" so one particular title company I work with wanted me to know how much they appreciate what I do, and the 12 and 14 hour days I work at the end of the month.
The package was from Vermont Teddy Bear.
The card inside read:
"We are your biggest fans, thanks for all that you do to make our jobs easier!"

I was very touched by this, because they know how much I hate month end. This boosted my spirits big time today.
This little lady now proudly decorates my desk. I'd bring her home, but then Jack would want her for his girlfriend!

what I do...

I work for Countrywide Home loans in the funding department. I handle two branches out east(Tarrytown NY and Rutherford NJ) When a loan is ready to close it comes from underwriting to me, I review the numbers and make sure everything matches, send the closing package out to title, and order/release the wire at the proper time. I've been with the company 5 years, doing this for 3 1/2 years.
Last month I did 196 loans...100 of them in the last week of the month. Yesterday I sent 32 packages out.
The Bear is a really nice gift, and it opened my eyes to the impact I have on others. Usually at month end I'm the one everyone is screaming at for docs, or a missing wire, or a file not transferred, or a disbursement not authorized. I usually scream back too...That is if my phone is not forwarded to voice mail!
This was really nice, it was a thank you from someplace I didn't expect one, and it woke me up to how little I use those words around here, and how much more I need to.
