Taking a walk down the ranges section of Sears, BB, Lowe's, etc. Kenmore/WP, GE, Maytag, Frigidaire, etc. They almost look all the same except for certain features like WP Accusimmer, Dual-sized burners on the Kenmores, and different window shapes on the oven door. I love the "smiling" window on the Kenmores (that's the one I'm getting). In fact, all my appliances (except the smalls) will be Kenmore.

Most of the over-the-range microwaves look the same.

Are they all imported or does the US still build them?

Not complaining because they are really good, nicely-built appliances. But just wondering.

The newest TOL electric ranges from WP have night lights on them again. Not that it matters much, but it is a nice feature.

I hope they do it with the their new gas ranges also.

Bosch

Well, no. I got the $499 Smartwash one because that was in budget. I'm already overbudget because I upgraded the carpet and the Formica counter tops.

Heavy Metal

I have seen Bosch, Seimens and Lg in newer homes in the past few monthes. They look heftier and the oven interiors cleam and sparkle in the lights.
I am axious to cook on and in one and see what lies beneath.

Hefty?

Kelly, the B/S/H group (Bosch, Siemens, Juno, etc.) are well built - but my experience has been that the only ranges worth having are the ones built prior to the mid-1970's.
Those old GEs and Fridigaires are better than anything you can buy today, at any price.
My experience has only been with LG washers and Refrigerators and they are outstanding, so I can't comment about their ranges.
If I had to buy a modern range (I wouldn't - I like having the convection oven at arm level so only buy cooktops and "table ovens") then it would be a Miele. They have much better calibration on their thermostats and closer tolerances on their production than the standard B/S/H group...which are already pretty good compared to the ± 50°F tolerance I have read for current stuff. I hope that was a misprint - 50°!

formica Jason ?

what style/kind/color ? boomerang ? (hehehe), you must be so psyched .........

No boomerangs. I forget the actual color but it's a dark green kinda speckled thing. Me and Helen think it's a happy color to go along with the other colors in the house. It will contrast on the chrome appliances very nicely, and it will make the pink Kitchenaid mixer look like Connie Francis's kitchen.
