Soil Settler What?

I very familiar with the workings of the Whirlpool PowerClean and SheerClean modules..........but what the heck is up with the bargain basement tower dishwashers?

What the heck is a soil settler filter system? It looks to me like just a plastic screen in the bottom. does this module actually separate out food soil somehow? or does it just spray around soil that passes the plastic screen?

Not sure.

But let us not forget that D&M DW-ers and GEs (and there may be others) DID NNOT HAVE a filter/screening system for decades...............

Could this be a marketing gimmick to say that the pause bewteen *recirculate* and *drain* modes was intentional, and not just for the motor to reverse?
