Since I cannot edit my previous posts, threads #94114 and #94113 titled "1959 General Electric GE Combination Frost Guard Refrigerator with bottom Freezer - works!", it is SOLD!
That's a nice fridge and I'm glad it found a new home. It's the smaller of the Frost Guard bottom freezer models from that period and will fit in more kitchens than its larger sibling, which is 36" wide.
Hi Ralph, The very popular larger GE Frost Guard 19 CF model is only 34"wide, which is still wider than many older refs but it does and did fit in many kitchens and is a true counter depth model at only around 26" deep.
Thanks John. I realized I was thinking about the width of large modern refrigerators when I typed that. When I see two crisper drawers, I know it's the larger of the BF Frost Guard Combination models and I agree that 34" will fit in a lot of kitchens.
GE introduced the forced draft condenser system combined with counter depth and shoulder hinges for a built-in look in 1957 if I'm not mistaken. Did any other manufacturer offer those three features sooner or did GE scoop all of them?
