Yesterday Rocky, who does appliance installs, stopped by my shop. He did a dishwasher install up out in Ka'anapali. The dishwasher that was being replaced was a Fisher Paykel double dishdrawer in black. I'm thinking this may be just the thing to deliver Dennis and I from our current state of (dishwasherless) misery. It helps that it is a tiny bit smaller than most dishwashers and already is enclosed in a cabinet.

The folks that own the pizza restuarant in my building said they had a stacked laundry. Mrs. wants to have it installed at the restuarant for washing towels and rags but Mr said no. Anyway they asked me to take it to my shop and see if it works. It is an old Maytag Se1000 with the old style transmission. The wash tub has a light-how cool is that?
Sadly, the lid is always locked in operation- I hate that!

I have an SE1000 with an orbital transmission. I unscrewed the lock hook from the lid and inserted it directly into the hole in the machine top. Most of the time I never even bother to close the lid. Sometimes the hook will move out of place enough that the computer thinks the lid is open--so I finally taped mine in place. Doing that with the hook seemed much easier than "hotwiring" the complicated latch. And of course, this way it can be easily "undone".

The F & P Dishdrawers

I would think twice before I installed those F & P Dishdrawers. They generally won't even wash a PLATE clean much less anything else. My mother and sister both had them. Mom got rid of hers after 11 service calls and my sister got rid of hers after 4. Everything from electronics to leaking! Find a good old KitchenAid or Thermador Steam Machine. Best of luck with it all. Mark

LOL!

I guess thats why the folks out in Ka'anapali pitched 'em. Its just that these would be well suited to my unique "installation" since it already had a cabinet around it. No point in doing that if its a dawg however.
I'm just dying to have a dishwasher again.

On the Maytag Se1000, the light comes on only when the lid is opened.

I've not had any trouble with my DishDrawer DD603 after close to 1.5 years. Moved it along when I bought a new house last month. No dirty plates here! No leaking, no electronic troubles, although I suppose it could happen, as it could with any other machine.

Delightful dishdrawer

2 1/2 years with a dish drawer here and no problems. DD602. I did do some upgrading on it so it now cleans as well as the new 603. F&P made some changes to the control boards and wash arms that improved cleaning. These changes came into play after mine was made. On the other hand I wouldnt pay full retail for a dishdrawer. But since you now have one in your hands it may be worth some time even if you did have to put a few parts in it.

P.s. Parts are fairly reasonable for F&P
