some of my smaller appliances

You've probably seen my posts about me having some of my grandmother's old kitchen appliances, so I'd thought I'd share them with the gang. This is a picture of her old Sunbeam Mixmaster. The paint's a little dull due to lots of use over the years, yet it still runs like a champ and has a tremendous amount of power! It's got all the accessories with it. Both size bowls, and the juicer attachment are pictured here. I also have the instruction manual / recipe book that came with it.

Just off to the left is a neat canister set that was my mother's. They date back to the early sixties. The really small canisters off to the left are salt & pepper shakers that match the bigger canisters.

This shiny little toaster was my grandmother's too. It's a General Electric. I don't know how old it is, but from my guess it's early 50's vintage....these things make everyone look fat!

Here's a cool waffle iron that I remember my grandmother making me waffles in when I stayed over at her house. It think it's totally cool because it looks like a flying saucer. Anyone know the age of this one. I am figuring it is pre world war II. I still use it to make waffles in myself.

And of course, you cannot forget the classic GE perculator! This thing was a regular at the breakfast table too. I loved watching the little perculator thingy in the top when the coffee was brewing as a child...still do! I'm just not much of a coffee drinker, so this guy doesn't get out as often as the other gadgets.

I always like to see everyone's small appliances, even the newer ones, but when there are nice vintage ones, it's even better.

My parents got one of those GE toasters for their wedding in '56, but used the Sunbeam T-20 instead.

Now that's a lotta chrome! Here's a picture of the whole gang gathering on the countertop just above the new Kitchenaid! Cool! I just noticed the handle on my fridge matches the control panel on the DW quite nicely!

Note to oneself! Remember to have on clothes when taking pictures of shiny appliances!!! I took the picture of the coffee maker after taking a shower, so I had to delete it when I noticed my reflection was a little risque! I'll post another one tomorrow!

Love to see the pics.. that's a GE T34 toaster and from about 1955, mom's still using hers daily, never broken yet. I bought a 2nd hand one a few months ago. GE resurrected itin the 80's but cheapened somehow as the "new" one only weighed about half as much. What make is the waffle iron? does look like a flying saucer LOL It looks to be 1940's perhaps earlier. Now you need to find a nice chrome vintage blender

I have that same GE percolator, only in gold. I found it at our local Salvation Army store for $3, complete. I love the look, it's soooo cool!

Question on the waffle maker..

How do you guys keep the waffles from sticking in the old waffler makers that don't have non stick surfaces? I had a disaster years ago with an old Sunbeam waffle maker. I thought I sprayed it with Pam or coated it with oil or something. All I remember is what a mess it was when I opened the cover and the waffle split in half each going in the direction of the plates of the waffle iron.

I see old waffle irons from time to time and always pass them by because I figure I would never use them.

I spray Pam or whatever coking spray I may have on hand. I use a generous amount and they come out just fine for me.

I've had pretty good luck with Pam spray. Crisco spray, and the Crisco paste also works good. Of course the paste stuff is a lot harder to coat a waffle iron with.

The Waffle Iron is a G.E too. it has the number 149Y194 stampted on the bottom. I am thinking aht maybe 149 means that it was manufactured January 1949 maybe?
