Hi all :)
as the title implies i have somthing to share.
my cousin and her husband bought a candy GOV580C dryer, they like it but, they are selling thier hosue and moving and they havent got any room for the dryer, the dryer is a little under 6 months old and they are giving it to me :)
they used to keep it in a keter shed (which is identical to my wash house) and whan the sun shines on the shed it gets warm, they havent had any trouble with the sensor (my shed gets hot when the sun shines on it so i shouldent have any issues). i know not everyone likes candy but all oppinions are welcome :)
the dryer is vented too btw, i shall get some pictures when i pick it up on the 18th of July :)
Tom :)

Hi Tom,
Is it a sensor dryer? Hoover /Candy's don't like starting up outside their operating temperature when it's too cold. Gias say that a warm jug of water should be placed in the drum for 5-10 mins too fool the sensor before loading.

a hot water bottle may be a better alternative lol :)
i have no trouble with the wash house being cold, as the roof is a dark colour and it atracts heat :)
Andy, your not on MSN by any chance? :)
Tom :)

Good that it's free...

we'll finally be able to see if they are good or not. from the first hand.

lol
the dryer has some pretty positive feedback on appliances online's website and the condenser model has very positive feedback, one review i read is making me fee abit worried as the reviewer mentioned the dyer still being in cycle when the door was opend :/

good - you will solve the door mystery

please dont say that oh please!!
i had enough of that when i had that bloody zanussi washer lol
the dryer hasnt given my cousin and her husband any jip so i think it will be fine :)
(hopes)
Tom :)

ah ok :)
Dex, i have a feeling that this dryer will take some getting used to as the siemens took alot of getting used to when we first got that, are you on MSN by any chance?
Tom :)

BTW I think they were suggesting hot water so the vapor can move & warm the sensor, Or don't use it when it's cold and use the Siemens instead =)

lol
i read a review for the hoover vesion with the rectangular door, the reviewer said that if you take the filter out and feel around for a button sized disc (its the sensor) and put your hand on it for 10 secs it works lol
Tom :)

Based on My Hotpoint - which will probably be different

Hanger Dry leaves the clothes with moisture, which is noticed by the hand on thicker garments, its so that as they are hung up in a cupboard, then some moisture may dry leaving crease free finish, whereas cupboard dry dry's nearly all the moisture out, leaves the items soft, and this moisture can't be felt by the hand.
Good luck with it, but My grans Hoover (Built by Candy) lasted 1+half years and was a pile of junk, drum paddle fell of in less than a month of use, and it made a loud banging noise from day 1. Felt like a tin too.
