What was wrong with the AEG? Was it an AEG or an AEG-electrolux? Dunno if it makes any difference?

Nice and cool looking machine but if it was me, I would have gone for a 100% hidden look.
So, how does it perform? No bobloads so far?

Very very nice. I wish the U.S. version of the Bosch (and other euros) put the temperature targets of the cycles on the display like above instead of simply giving cycle names. I'm glad you didn't get the hidden look. I love buttons, lights, displays, and on and on!!

I like the new Bosch better. The AEG may be a fine machine as well, but the lines of your kitchen demand clean design. The Bosch control buttons form a clean horizontal line that is symetrical to the pattern in your kitchen counter and the bottom access panel of the dishwashwer. (Granted, this is being really picky, but since you asked...)
I'll trust that the Bosch also works well. Congratulations, it really looks nice.

Bob loads

I have the same machine like Lavamat and I did many Bobloads. We have the machine since october 2006 and it works really fine. The automatic programm cleans well an shortens cleaning time if the dishes are not so dirty. I'm totally satisfied with it.

Yes, those B/S/H dishwashers are awesome! One of the things I looked forward to after having been abroad for three month: no more hand washing! Just ran a full load of pretty dirty stuff trough it (Pyrex dishes with baked-on stuff). Used the auto 65°-75° cycle with Vario Speed and within 97 minutes everything was clean and dry - love it!

Be sure to use the spray head for those bulky itmes - it's really usefull: here I cleaned the kitchen trash can (which was more dusty than dirty).

Very handsome machine - I like the blue accents on the racks.

I'm with Bob, I would prefer to have the cycle temps disclosed on the panel/controls than kept a secret from the user. I suppose we'd learn them very quickly regardless, but I would guess the reason they aren't on Amercian machines or US versions of European machines is that our frightened of everything culture would feel it was a safety hazard having a locked, running machine in the house with their precious larvae that reached temps over 98.6F. The dishwasher would have to come with a set of baby-gates to block off the kitchen and restraint straps to hold the kid back from the kitchen door!

I have friends and clients with Bosch dishwashers but that I know of, none have ever used the spray nozzle and removed the upper rack for larger items. Too far out of the realm of appliance capability for them, maybe? ;-)

the performance was getting worse day by day. Dishes were dirty after washing, and the dishes started to look "siffy"

I like the new Bosch more, thant the old AEG.
It looks much better, cleans much better, is much better

Somebody asked for a Bobload.
Here it is, but I don´t know if it is a REAL bobload.
What do you think?

The photos were taken, when the cycle was done.
I used the Auto 55°-65° cycle, which I really like.

I didn´t want to have a completely hidden machine because there is no display, and I couldnt see what the machine is doing and how long the cycle takes.

I find hidden controls (on the top edge) a little inconvenient, to say the least. I like the controls to be easily accessible, especially the main power switch.

Another possible problem is accidental spillage of liquids when placing items into, or taking from the machine. I'm always careful myself, but I swear that the power switch and menu selectors on my Bosch have gotten stickier through time. I don't know if this is just a combination of general kitchen dust and steam from the machine, or whether it is foodstuffs (flour particles, etc).

The controls on my machine don't seem to be particularly well shielded against such ingress (hard plastic buttons, that 'wobble' in their surround). Other competitor machines have wipe-clean membrane type touch pads (like a microwave oven control panel).

i believe this bosch is the same one that bosch makes for kenmore elite line here in the states. i purchased it, and it is a terrific machine.... youre looks a bit more sexy though

Fully integrated

I prefer the hidden controls of fully integrated models. I think it's nice when the dishwasher and refrigerator are indistinguishable from the kitchen cabinets. In the Oakland kitchen I have stainless front appliances, but the dishwasher is fully integrated. I have had no problems with the buttons on the top lip of the door. Miele makes them with a rubbery plastic cover, and after 5+ years of use, they are in good condition and working well. As far as knowing when the machine is running, well, that is part of the fun. It’s always entertaining when an unsuspecting guest opens the machine and receives a face full of steam. A bit wicked of me perhaps, but the quiet of these machines is consistent with my personal philosophy that appliances should be neither seen (with exceptions of course) nor heard. I thought that Bosch and Miele were now putting a bright light on the control panel of fully integrated models so that you can know when the cycle is running. The strength of the light is presumably sufficient to light the underneath of the counter.
Well, enough for now. The Bosch in the pics above remains a nice looking machine in this kitchen.

Yup, that one is really a Bob-load to me!

As far as integrated controls go, I think is just a matter of taste, as I said I like them, plus since my machine has only programme selector and on/off switch there's not much that can get messy and if it does I simply wipe a damp towel and everyting comes out clean. As an additional safety measure anyway there's a secondary switch on top of the machine near the electric socket above the counter.

Nino, that's a very nice dishwasher! Too bad your AEG didn't work anymore like it should be. I keep my fingers crossed, my AEG 6060 is much older (from around 1996) but still going strong (knock on wood!).
