Some recent small finds; Defrost o Matic, Westy,Oster Waring

So much for my not bringing anything new (old) into the house before we move..
First off I found this Defrost O Matic doo hickey in a box of 50 cent junk so what they hay.. I plugged it it and it ticks away but not sure exactly how you use it.. put it in the freezer compartment for it to heat up or something? Anyone with a vintage fridge/freezer who wants it lemme know.

Then yet another Westinghouse spoutless coffee perc like the one I got last year. I recollect Robert linked an old tv ad for this model from the late 50's.

Blend-O-Rama

Not another two blenders is what I hear when I bring these home. Oh well, I like em and that's all that matters. The Oster on the right is a later model, the beginnings of their product "cheapening" smaller motors and even worse "plasti-chrome" body instead of real chrome metal. You can tell just by lifting it up it ain't the same as models of just a couple of years earlier. Same with the Waring, lots of plastic, the jar is glass though the awful wagon wheel drive. And soo many buttons it's a nightmare to clean.

Here's my thoughts...

I believe this kills the power for whatever the chosen time setting, thereby imitating a cycle defrost.

You win the prize!!! That is exactly what the timer unit does. I remember my Mom using one with her 52 Philco refrigerator. After the Philco died, we used it as a timer to control lamps.
