Some unnamed person made me buy this today...

Whining + Granny's Country Omelet = 1957 Zenith Space Co

What Robert fails to mention is that he got this tv working at the sale the first time we were there and decided not to buy it! But...before we left the sale, he messed with the controls so that it wouldn't produce a nice picture.

A little convincing from Fred and me (and a nice 800+ calorie breakfast) brought Rob to his senses. We headed back to the sale and loaded it in the truck!

Ohhhhh, the truth be told.
Gary, thanks for sharing "the dirt"
Robert wasn't being angelic in that shot, more quite the opposite (sabotage stikes again .... YIKES!!)
Oh, those true colors!!
But, hey, we'll cut him some slack since it ended up at the best place is could have landed .... "Robert and Fred's Vintage Appliance Land"!!
What Fun!!
Just wish I had been along for the ride.

"Look At Television"

Question for you guys:

Did any of your grandparents or parents refer to watching television as "looking at television" in the 50's or 60's? I remember both of my maternal grandparents saying "lets look at television" or "why don't you look at television".

???

Oh Yes I Remember!

The last of television that I watched with my grandparents was the "Golden Girls". Early 80's. I would always go to their home to watch it. It was like clockwork. My grandmother would answer the door and say "Let's go look at the Golden Girls". I think this is one of the reasons why I like the Golden Girls so much.
Memories. Seems like yesterday. It is actually almost 20 years ago or more.
