I called those Big Mouth dryers. It's a shame that they were not quite thought through before manufacturing. The early SQ dryers had such a heat sink with that metal lint filter frame and metal screen that CU reported water condensing on the door and running out onto the floor in front of the dryer. At least the HP/GE was not that bad.
I am still searching for a SQ washer to match my mid-late 1960s SQ dryer and I can't believe how scarce they became. SQ and Simplicity washers were quite popular in my area.
When Georgies grandfather bought them he asked his wife
" do you want a mink stole or new TOL Speed Queens "?
So she chose these !! Hence the name on the dryer !
Looks like it has a light either a regular lamp or maybe an ozone bulb. Love that ''Mothers Mink" moniker! that drum looks minty fresh...or is that minky.....
