Hi all. After working quite well for a very long time, quite sometime back my Superba started filling with water only during first rinse, and no water on later cycles. I didn't try it again for over a year, and now it's not bringing in any water on any cycles. From my reading here, the strong suggestion is that the fill valve was failing and then failed completely.

Can anyone recommend an affordable source for a replacement? I don't see anything obvious on ebay, for example.

Also, assuming I can find an affordable replacement, any hints on how best to do the job? I have the service manual but the photos are pretty bad. I know it's down in the lower panel section somewhere, but any specific hints? Thanks very much!

I should add, if there's anything else I should also check first, please let me know. As I said, the last time I used it there was water for the first rinse only, and today when I tried it after a year there apparently is no water at all. Thanks again.

The original water valves are dual but the replacement is a single valve, it functions the same though. Simply use electrical tape on the 2 other wire connectors so they don't short out to anything metal.

I now have the replacement valve, and am getting ready to install it. Unfortunately, the water feed is a solid copper line, leading to an L, leading to the valve. I am concerned that I may not be able to get a good seal on the compression fitting leading to the L from the copper line after I disconnect it, and want to buy a new nut and sleeve, but I'm unsure what size I need. Assuming the L is standard with the KDS-18, what size compression nut/sleeve do I need to connect to it? The copper water inlet pipe measures about OD 0.5 inch with my not great caliper. I was assuming that a .5 nut and sleeve would be correct given that pipe size, but I'm unsure about connecting to the L. I don't want to take this apart until I have the replacement, because if it leaks I'll have to shut that entire water line down. Thanks!
