The overpriced GE bottom freezer in South Pasadena is now on ebay with a starting bid of $49.99.

One might think the seller has come down to earth . . . until you read the "Reserve not met" fine print.

Apparently even the SoCal hipsters weren't going for it at the astronomical CL price point of $2,500 (as seen in Shoppers Square thread #56541).

Ralph,

I'll bet if that fridge were advertised in the Bay Area those NorCal hipsters would have snatched it up at $2500. All the Socal hipsters I know live at "the home" which may be the reason it didn't sell originally. (by "hipsters" you did mean those that have at least one replacement?)

" . . . at least one replacement?"

Joe,

More like at least one giant tattoo running from wrist to elbow or beyond on each arm.  You know, one will never have any credibility as a master of molecular gastronomy in LA-LA land without them.

Around here, I think the only way that thing would command such a price would be if it were solar powered.  The hippie dippie Earth Day scene hasn't lost a bit of steam in these parts.
