Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

That other pair sold for $600, "dryer tumbles and heats, washer unknown" and not rusted where you could see it. This one is the same thing, unknown mechanical, clean external, for 1/3 that. Not that I necessarily understand where value lies in these things. Pinkness?

I have never known a WH, from 1947 onward, with no control over water temp. Maybe not a button, but at least a timer setting.

Dad was a stinge. Even with employee discount, he didn't buy the variable waterlevel until 1964, when it was universal.

Surely you don't mean that those two features account for 2/3rds of the value of a machine not known to work? OTOH, in collectorland, they could. So could pink, all by itself.

We got 'to the moon' mileage out of our slantfronts, but even back then the spacemates had a cloudy reputation. Never saw one in person. Thanks for filling in the niches.

I stopped to take a look at this one on my way back from Tucson this weekend and here is what I found.........

It looked decent considering, but I couldn't get the door open.

The boots struggled to survive even in the short term. We had to have one replaced, in roughly 5 years. Materials weren't very advanced back then. The boot in my 13yo Frigiwhite seems good as new.
