Hi all! My daily A108, in 2004 had a new set of whirlpool belts. Well im getting a knocking noise thru spin regularly now, maybe a new set of belts would quiet this. Its had somewhat heavy use in last 20 years.

Wanted to ask if any of you are in surplus of a set of belts? 47 bucks on repairclinic and have no problem paying - just seeing if anyone had a surplus out there?

I'd remove and inspect the belts before condemning. Knocking issues during the spin cycle are generally not the belts. It's usually the damper pads, tub bearing, loose tub to suspension arm bolt(s), bleach or water pressure hose banging into the cabinet, broken suspension eye bolt, tub cover contacting the inner tub, and inner tub knocked off center.

Knocking

Thanks for replies as each has me thinking more on this. Last i looked a year ago, the damper pads looked ok.

The knocking sounds to me sound like the slide plate (also replaced in 2004). Also on full loads, "a tick" sound is heard while washing, different but similar sound during spin.

After reading here more, maybe a perfect leveing job would correct this - currently the machine slopes back slightly.

It was already 98% level

Just washed a completely mixed load and the final spin was just as perfect as brand new - the 1st spin was fast knocking throughout as the agitator spun a bit oval. Full speed seemed to be achieved.

Just let it go for another 10 years and access? Ha
