Speaking of Modern Parts in Parma.....

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I read somewhere on here in just the past month or two that Modern is still operating and I think a family member is currently carrying on with the business.

Just FYI, if you have part numbers that helps! Michelle was able to cross-reference and locate a few equivalent parts for me. It made me miss Larry all the more - the man could rattle off a part number you needed just based on the machine and its problem you described...

They've also revamped their website and there is now a 'contact us' button, but it's probably still best to call and speak to them in person.

Sad to hear of Larry's passing.

I live in Cleveland area and have been to the store ( Modern Parts House ) many times. He was a good guy and quite the character. He had a quick wit it was like talking to Groucho Marx. Also very knowledgable on all appliances big and small and he had a great inventory of old parts or he knew exactly where to get what you needed and got it for you. I hope they keep the store going it is a great resource. We also had another great store with 2 locations one in Parma and garfield hts. called Major's sadly gone now. It had three brothers who ran it Chuck , Fred and the other brother I can't remember his name they also could come up with long obsolete parts to keep your appliances going. They also would walk me thru reparing my appliances with their advice. They were factory authorized repair dealers for almost all brands of appliances. If you have any vintage appliance's that you have the factory authorized service centers instructions they were listed as a repair center. I never gave it a thought how lucky I was to have such great stores located locally. Bill,
