In all of the ads and photos that I've seen from the 30's, the appliances featured were white. But I'm no authority on this subject so I could be wrong.
The interior of the refrigerator door, to take one example, looks like molded white plastic. There was no material like this in the '30s Most refrigerator doors at the time didn't have shelves anyway.
And garbage disposals went on the market in 1938. 52 were manufactured.
As for the color, to each his own, I guess. The design is pretty nice, as is the matching cabinet.
Dwyer's been around since the 1920s, and apparently they're still at it.
On a side note, I love James Lilek's writing. His book "The Gallery of Regrettable Food" literally brings tears to my eyes.
A Dwyer kitchen of this color palette joined with a serving "GLOP in a POT" is a match made in heaven.
Now what we need is Penguin Eggs.
