I went to the laundromat with my Al to help him with his laundry all of the machines were Speed Queen front load were triple loaders and single load top loaders. I opened the lid on the top loader and was shocked by the low water level. I don't think the tub was even half full of water. I told him the next even though it was single load, he might want to use a triple loader instead. I don't know what year they are or the model number. But the next time I go there I will take my camera with a get some pictures.

Yeah the newer commercial Speed Queens do that to conserve water. Even the home versions do it, but just about everyone who buys the home versions adjust the water level. Unfortunately due to regulations, the owners of laundromats who buy the new Speed Queens can't do anything about it. Which is very unfortunate since Speed Queens are the best out there.

Laundromat owners can do something about it, but few-to-none do... Better not to have toploads at all and force everyone into frontloads...

The Speed Queen triple loader uses a decent amount of water, more than my Frigidaire Gallery, and it was extremely quiet, I couldn't even tell it spinning unless I went over and look at it directly. I would love to have a SQ triple loader in my house.

I think Alliance could compete more with LG/Samsung if they offered a triple loader for the home market.. I believe a triple loader is 6.1 cu.ft.. That would pretty much put an end to the capacity races.

The problem is, I don't see how they could sell it for under $2.5k without making a lot of compromises they wouldn't normally make with their commercial equipment. (Not to mention changing out the 3-phase motor.)
