I'm either blessed or cursed with the ownership of multiple properties. But, I work in two different cities and we have escapes from both. We have a SQ stacked setup in two places. I noticed the other day when looking over the manual that SQ says if you are using wash pods to just throw it into the drum and not use the tray ? Now -- I hate the SQ pull out tray for the soap and bleach as it feels cheap and I can't read it! I also don't use it enough to remember the tray layout. It seems the washer fills with some water and then drains on the initial cycle? The water that washes out the tray is much later and seems to be in the second longer fill. Am I missing something about the initial cycle? If I am right the pod will just be washed away. We have a GE set at the beach and I use the tray for the pods and it's never a problem. Why would they make a unit that can't use pods? I am a manual reader so I'm surprised I missed this but I did not install the units and I'm only reading now because of a problem with the initial install (venting)

Speed Queen front load washer dispenser systems

The dispenser drawer is smaller on Speed Queen front load washers. They were worried about people putting way too much detergent in because it is a commercial machine.

If you put pods in them, they sometimes will get caught and not flow into the outer tub and it will cause a water back up
And cause a leak I’ve done several service calls for this problem. The pods are designed to go in the drum unless the manual for the particular washer you have says otherwise most front load washer should not have pods put in the dispenser.

I don’t know why the washer would fill and then drain out some of the wash water unless you’re using the pre-wash cycle, which does dispense the detergent in the right rear compartment and then drain out all the water and spin a little bit and then it dispenses the detergent in the right front compartment

I agree with you they could be better labeled, but it’s not hard to learn both. The detergent compartments are on the right. The fabric softener is the left rear compartment and the bleach is the front left compartment.

Hope this helps John
