Speed Queen Front Load Water Level

I am considering replacing my Kenmore Elite front load washer with a SQ front load (front electronic control). I am trying to find out how much water my Kenmore model 417.4110 uses in the normal cycle to see how it compares with the 11.7 gallons per cycle that the SQ uses. In general, does SQ use more water?? Are the cycle times generally shorter?? I am tired of the long cycle times and wimpy water level of the Kenmore. Any and all advice appreciated.

Well...

If your existing machine does not use enough water for your liking, I doubt that any machine on the market, by today's standards, will satisfy your concerns. I would look at purchasing a SQ top loader if you want more water and quicker cycles.

I am not wanting to go back to a top load machine as I like the capacity of the front load and my laundry room configuration is such that only a front load will work. I was just curious if the SQ front loaders used any more water than most and if the cycle times were any shorter.

Cycle Times

on average 40 to 55 minutes for most. Longer if you option up.

Is your current machine not cleaning your clothing?

When we recently bought the new SQ FL machine it DID NOT qualify for a rebate from our local water utility because of it's non HE level of water use. The system they used rated it "Silver", rather than the "Gold" water use rating necessary for the rebate.

Silver Rating Meaning "Uses More Water"

So if the Silver rating means it uses more water then I think that is a good thing. The Speed Queen FL is more than frugal on water use vs. my old top load. 45 gallons vs. under 12 gallons per load. I also feel the cloths are well saturated.
