Speed Queen, no fill, error code

Hey folks.
The in-laws are having an issue with their top-load Speed Queen.
I'll attach pictures. But basically, it's showing the pictured error code, and won't fill.
I'm sure they'll leave it to a professional tech, unless it's something crazy simple that even a caveman could do. (Throwback Geico reference)
They gave it the old "unplug it and plug it back in." That didn't help.
Any ideas?

Quick search says Er Co = communications error between the control board in the console and the output/motor board in the base.  Can be caused by corrosion or burn on the wiring harness connectors, broken wire, or a board problem.

I found something stating basically the same thing on a SQ tech site of some sort.
Another site suggested unplugging for five minutes and plugging back in. I believe they already tried that.
Sounds like a job for someone who knows what they're doing. I'll give it a good leaving alone.

Yes. You're right. This Speed Queen is from before they changed them to the design that a lot of people hated.

That's ok. I like to have clear descriptions broken down. I believe speed queen has improved on their perfect wash system.

The first thing I noticed about photo #1 in the original post was the “Quick Wash” cycle. I thought, “This must not be a 9-series, because I don’t have a Quick Wash cycle. Then I saw photo #3 and realized it was indeed a 9-series.

 

So, I sauntered over to my 2017 SQ and looked at the console. Lo-and-behold, there it was: Quick Wash.

 

How it’s possible I’ve never noticed that cycle before is beyond me. I played with the console a bit and found that the Quick Wash is only two minutes shorter than the Heavy Duty cycle on its lightest soil setting. Not much of a difference. They obviously didn’t shorten the final spin or the rinse agitation time, so not quite sure why it warrants a “Quick” designation.  Regardless, I’m definitely going to give it a try on a medium-sized load of colors later today, just to say I’ve used the cycle.

Eugene.. I just noticed my LG 3700 has a "cold wash" button on it last week and that was only because I looking in the manual for something else. And then when seeing it in the manual I'm thinking why is there a cold wash button when the water temperature selection already has "tap cold, cold, warm, hot, extra hot". I read it and as I'm writing this I've already forgotten why it has it.

How old is this washer? I wonder if it's still under warranty or not.

Couldn't swear to it, but it may have been purchased in August of 2015.

Looks like it would have been manufactured the 7th week of 2015 and I believe this model had a 5 year warranty.

Newer SQ TL Washer

The serial # 1507....... means it was built in July of 2015.

 

These would have had a 5 year P&L warranty from purchase date.
