Could anyone shed some light on the differences (if any) between the Speed Queen residential units and the non-vended commercial units marketed as "homestyle?"

I recently bought a homestyle, model number A52, and was wondering how it compared to the 432 residential unit.

Thanks!!

SQ is kinda backwards

Usually - with Whirlpool and such - their commercial units are upgraded from their residential line.
Better bearings, dampers. Those "wear down" items often get an upgrade.

With Electrolux and Miele, their commercial units are mostly independent of the residential units.
Miele blurs the line with their little giants, but while they look similar, they are quite different underneath.

For SQ, their residential units are basically just their commercial units sold under compliance with residential standards.
Maybe they would change some minor components like the belt or so to adapt for the different market, and certain features are different like water level selection, but the machine is basically the same you would find in a laundromat.

Programming though is majorly different especially on the FL side.
TLs are somewhat different as well in that regard.
sQ has the closest in terms of programming from residential to commercial.

Speed Queen Home Laundry Vs Commercial Coin Models

There is absolutely no difference in build quality or any part, pumps, motors, belts, bearings and right down to the cabinets and the screws that hold it all together are all exactly the same.

Cycle and control options are different with the home machines having lots more cycle choice.

Warranties are also MUCH longer for machines designed for and used in the home.

Total warranties for home use range from 3-7 years of P&L on the entire machine with some additional major parts covered for 5-15 years and lifetime on tubs etc.
