Hi All,

I'm continuing my questions about replacing my old Kenmore here in the Deluxe forum because I'd love to hear from those of you who might not have noticed my topic has drifted to the Speed Queen pair that I saw in our Habitat ReStore this afternoon. Thanks to all of you who have already commented and offered suggestions and guidance.

Model: AWN412SP111TW01
Serial: 1004002047

Model: ADE4BRGS171TW01
Serial: 1003014957

$490 for the pair.

I'm posting pictures now.

Have I mentioned lately that you all are fantastic?

Thanks, Sarah

Fortunately...

My friend Jeannie runs the ReStore. They are holding the set until Monday. I need to talk to my husband since they meet neither of his critera--except, perhaps, being mechanical. Talking does not mean that I will listen, but I will give him the courtesy of a conversation (and the option of acting like it is his idea). Then, I'll probably buy them anyway. He complians that I'm bossy. He's probably right.

Thank you all!
Sarah

I had no idea this even existed! That pair looks great, I hope it works out for you. I need to go visit the one here on Long Island. I need a new washer, and the price of a new SQ FL'er is more than I can really afford.

Perdue ( French for lost) recommendation ;'D From the

When you said your husband was determined to buy a Whirlpool, I kept quiet; after all, he's buying it, not me. But for the capacity you're looking for, and no electronics, the Speed Queen will not disappoint; in fact, it has more usable room because the agitator is streamlined in the center post and plate, thus making more room available for laundry.

Funny, we were just looking inside my sister Lynn's on Christmas Day. My nephew Daniel was looking for a machine in the family large enough to wash one of his son's stuffed animals. His Kenmore couldn't handle it. Lynn's's had her Speed Queen for years, and the tub looks mammoth, which has been their standard 3+ cubic feet for a long time. Like the old Maytags, it is a dependable, reliable work horse.

So had your husband not spoken up, I was planning to tell you that a Speed Queen is the machine for you. So there you go. Buy a Speed Queen.

Happy Extra-large load, gimmick free washing!

He didn't say no...

But he sullenly said, well if something goes wrong, we'll have to call a repair man because I only know how to fix Whirlpools. But he did not say now. I cheerily responded, "then I'll learn how to fix it."

If it breaks, I sure hope y'all will help me out!

Thanks for all of the encouragement and advice.

Best,
Sarah

RUN don't walk..........................................

Google the price for these machines on-line now!!!! The prices for these machines brand new have gone through the roof!!! They are in very high demand because of the build quality, and because of their mechanical, not high tech operation.
I have AWN 542 and the matching dryer, bought my ma a set, and am gonna get my brother and sister in law a set as well!
